A little taste!

As Kate and I were reviewing the impending snowmageddon, KOMO4 linked us to a video. This was the recommended video. Thank you, Steve Pool, for knowing my interests so well. BRING ON THE SNOW!!!!!!!!

And the blogging begins...

Thank you all so much for a fantastic going away weekend. I couldn't have asked for more.

Welcome to my newly formed blog! I have high hopes of keeping you all updated on my life here.  So here goes. Kate suggested that the title of this post should be "There is a God!". I think a more accurate title would have been "Dealing with Governments is a Huge Pain in the Ass". Anyway, I have some news. I finally heard from my recruiter yesterday. They have decided that there is not enough time for my visa to be processed before I need to be in Korea. They have given my contract to another teacher who can be there for sure. I received a new contract and my new departure date is March 25th.

I'm frustrated by the process. With the exception of the visa, I'm ready to go. I've been going through all of my stuff, planning my last days with friends and forcing people to hang out with me because I won't be around much longer. On the other hand, I'm excited that I get to spend more time in Seattle. Also, the new contract has much better benefits. They'll pay my rent, part of my health insurance, my flight in both directions and there is severance pay if I complete my contract. I should be able to save a lot more money this way. It's in a different school in a different city. Hwaseong City is also on the outskirts of Seoul. They are building Universal Studios Korea there!! There isn't as much information available about it as Ilsan, where I was originally going to go, but it's still in the area I was hoping for. At the very least, the weather will be better in Korea in April than in February!

Hopefully, my visa will come through in the next couple of weeks and I won't be on the edge of my seat right up until March 25th. I'll keep you posted (ha, ha. Get it? Blog? Posted? Never mind.).  In the meantime, who wants to hang out?
